HUA (or Hooah) has several meanings. It was originally military slang that meant Heard, Understood, and Acknowledged. A more creative, urban use of this term is: Head Up Ass, referring to someone who is oblivious to their surroundings and the ramifications of their actions. Although I'm partial to the last one because it makes me giggle, I prefer to use a derivation of the military use: Heard, Understood, and Appreciated.
All of us want HUA in our lives. When you speak your truth, you feel vindicated and confident that your life matters. When others understand what you are going through, you no longer feel alone; you feel supported, comforted, and loved, and when you are appreciated, you feel that your efforts, however big or small, are valued.
Feeling heard, understood, and appreciated improves self-esteem and gives us energy, and with more energy, we can heal. And it can help all of us, no matter what we are going through.
What’s the best way to get more HUA in your life? Give some. The more we give, the more we receive. Have fun with it. You may be surprised at what can happen when you have HUA in your life.
Wishing you healing and happiness, and HUA!
