Hi, I’m Cherie.

Chances are you are a passionate, curious, and creative writer with big ideas and wild aspirations. But maybe you just don’t know where to start, or you’re stuck in the middle of a project that feels never ending, or perhaps you need someone to take your beautiful prose and elevate it to the next level.

Whatever you need, and wherever you are on your writing journey, I get it. I’ve been there. I know what it takes to reach your goals and I love sharing what I’ve learned.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m a developmental editor, writing coach, and workshop facilitator with a passion for helping writers on all aspects of the writing process.

I’m also an award-winning author. After serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia, I brought home an African souvenir I didn’t expect: a mysterious illness that almost killed me. This inspired me to write my memoir, A Few Minor Adjustments. My other publications include, The Healing 100 and Poetry of Peace, as well as essays, short stories, and poems in various literary journals and anthologies. I am also a two-time winner of the San Diego Memoir Showcase.

Outside my writing life, you’ll find me dancing on the beach in San Diego, laughing for no reason, and practicing meditation with my cat, Jade. Anything else you want to know, just ask.

A FEW FUN FACTS

  • My favorite book as a child, now, and evermore: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. Right?

  • Movie that inspires me beyond what I could ever express: Dead Poets Society.

  • Quote I love: “The bad news is you’re falling through the air, nothing to hang on to, no parachute. The good news is, there’s no ground.” — Chögyam Trungpa

  • Wanderlust led me to more than forty countries and to live in four continents.

  • I’m ambidextrous and able to write upside with both hands simultaneously, and also able to walk on my knees in a full lotus position (don’t try that last one at home, kids).

  • And, there’s a decent chance that right now I’m dancing around my living room to some random tune like Build Me Up Buttercup by the Foundations.
