What fun I had writing an article called Sauce Day for the Eat, Darling Eat, storytelling website.

Eat, Darling, Eat is about mother/daughter relationships, centered around something that is fundamental and fun, evocative and provocative, shared across all cultures and generations: food. Some stories are warm tributes to beloved women; others are about more complicated family dynamics. Some are hilarious, some heartwarming, some heartbreaking.

When asked to contribute, I immediately remembered my mom making my Sicilian great grandmother’s sauce and the one day that shocked us all. It was fun to write and a terrific memory, which my mom and I laugh at now.
