Come join me for a night of bold truths and heartfelt comedy by local storytellers from the So Say We All literary arts community. And I’m excited to be one of them.

For those of you who haven’t yet experienced VAMP, it’s a highly-produced multimedia reading series. The VAMP Storytelling Showcase presents an evening of several writers performing works with visual accompaniment revolving around a changing theme.

It’s my third time performing at VAMP, and this one is special, since the theme is Flippin’ the Script, stories from disabled storytellers. I don’t always like that label, disabled, but it’s been part of my life for more than two decades. Guess it’s time I accept it…but that doesn’t mean it defines me. It’s just part of my story. And what a wild ride of a story it has been.

All participants are chosen by blind online submission, given writing and performance workshops to further improve the material and its delivery, and the final product is curated in a featured capacity. And it’s been happening every month since 2009.
